Farmers’ market open in Norway

NORWAY — The Norway farmers’ market is open every Thursday from 2 to 6 p.m. at the corner of Main and Deering streets.

Among the items for sale include herbal teas, organic eggs, cutting boards, utensils and beef and pork.

Increase Robinson Library summer hours

SUMNER — The Increase Robinson Library and Neighborhood House is now open from 9 a.m. to noon Tuesdays and Thursdays for the summer.

The library is a research/lending library with a children’s section.

Tour of Irving mill in Dixfield

DIXFIELD — The Upper Kennebec Valley Chapter of the Small Woodland Owners Association of Maine will take a guided tour of the Irving pine mill at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 16.

The group may also spend time on the log yard with Irving log buyers and scalers to learn about pine log scaling.

The mill manufactures kiln-dried pine lumber. The main mill includes a sawmill, a planer mill, four boilers, fuel storage and a maintenance garage.

Attendees should wear appropriate clothing such as sneakers.

The event is free and open to the public.

Storytelling group to meet June 16

FARMINGTON — The WOODS Storytelling Guild will gather to tell stories from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, June 16, at the Farmington Public Library, 117 Academy St.

Stories will be based on the theme Tiny Little Wee Things or any other subjects.

Hospital fundraiser June 16 and 17

RUMFORD — Rumford Hospital will host a fundraiser sale on Thursday and Friday, June 16 and 17, in Conference Room A downstairs by the cafeteria.

The sale will feature shoes, boots, accessories, handbags, workwear and nursing apparel.

Sale is from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. June 16 and 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 17. It is open to the public.

A percentage of sales will benefit the Employee Emergency Assistance Fund, which awards dollars to Central Maine Medical Family employees experiencing extenuating financial hardship.
