WILTON — The public is invited to join master logger Ron Ridley at one of his active wood harvests on Guy Chandler Road from 9 a.m. to noon on Tuesday, June 21.

Under the master logger program, loggers have to adhere to nine standards for every harvest to achieve the goals of the harvest. Attendees will learn about the program, the standards and the ins and outs of having a woodlot harvested.

There will be a chance to talk with forestry professionals and see logging equipment in action.

The Northeast Master Logger Program is a third-party program that certifies the sustainable harvesting practices of logging companies through the Rainforest Alliance’s SmartLogging certificate.

Event is rain or shine, and attendees should dress appropriately.

The event is free and open to the public.
