LIVERMORE FALLS — Treat Memorial Library has announced its summer programs.

Summer Reading Program — Ready, Set, Read!: 6 p.m. Thursday, July 7. The summer reading program continues with the return of Chewonki Traveling Natural History Programs, which will present “Animal Fitness: Connecting Skeletons and Muscles for Extreme Movements.” Students will look at record-holding species and discover how their skeletons, muscles and overall fitness help them to accomplish such impressive movements. Also featured in the program will be three live non-releasable animals with some unique abilities. Students will participate in some activities to see how humans measure up to these extraordinary creatures. This event is free and open to the public. 

Summer Reading Program — Nature Night: 6 p.m. Thursday, July 14. Attendees will go on a story walk and build their own terrariums to take home.

Summer Reading Program — All-Star Readers! 6 p.m. Thursday, July 21. Theresa Timberlake will return to help readers keep working on those reading goals. Readers should remember to turn in your reading logs between Aug. 26 and 30.

Irish Fiction: 3 p.m. Thursday, July 14. The book club will explore the work of authors from the Emerald Isle, both old and new. Readers should contact the library to reserve a copy of the current selection.

Lego Club: 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 23.Participate in the club will be challenged to build a Lego masterpiece. Finished pieces will be displayed at the library for the following month.

Preschool Story Time: 10:30 a.m. Wednesdays. Preschoolers can enjoy stories, songs, activities and crafts.

Teen Writers: 6 p.m. Tuesday, July 19. Area writers age 12 and older my participate for inspiration in whatever genre of writing that interests them.

The brand new Treat Memorial Library Garden Club is looking for members to help maintain its beautiful garden. The Garden Club will rotate watering and weeding duties. Those interested should contact the library.

The library will be closed on Tuesday, July 5, due to Independence Day.
