LEWISTON — Laurent and Jeannine Roy celebrated 60 years of marriage on Dec. 29.

The happy couple was married in Lisbon in 1956 where Mr. Roy immigrated from New Brunswick, Canada, in 1954 and had bought a farm.

Mrs. Roy was 17, a June graduate with honors from a boarding school in Biddeford Pool. Together they grew the farm for 12 years then sold it and moved to Lewiston.

They raised four children who now all live out of state: Marcel in Michigan, Dennis in Mississippi, Janice in New Hampshire and Elaine in Albuquerque, N.M.

Now that Mr. Roy is 83 and Mrs. Roy is 77, they decided on a quiet celebration.

After receiving telephone calls from all the children, the couple went for dinner at a local restaurant for a seafood meal.
