Scrap-booking event canceled
RUMFORD — Due to lack of participation, the Hope Association has announced that it is cancelling the scrap-booking and crafting benefit, scheduled for April 8 and 9.
Benefit dinner, variety show
STRONG — A benefit turkey dinner, from 5 to 6:30 p.m, and variety show, at 7 p.m., will be held on Saturday, April 8, at the Strong Elementary School, Main Street.
Proceeds will benefit Pastor Connie Maginnis, to help with the costs for recent surgery and medical care. Donations may be mailed to Strong United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 33, Strong, ME 04983.
Cost: $10 a person or $30 for a family

Oxford Hills AARP to meet
PARIS — The Oxford Hills Chapter of AARP will meet at noon on Monday, April 10, at the First Congregational Church on East Main Street.
A lunch of chicken will be served at 12 p.m. The cost will be $8, and reservations are required.
The business meeting will begin at 1 p.m. Ideas for the August Outing will be discussed. The cookbook and puzzle swap will continue, and the group will collect donations for the local food pantry.
