Coach: Jessica Merrill (fourth season)
Conference: MVC Class: C
Returning athletes: Seniors — Megan Chamberland, Corinna Coulton, Sarah Spahr; Sophomore — Nora Conrad.
Key Losses: Celeste Hannum, Olivia Audet.
Promising newcomers: Sophomore — Breonna Freeney; Freshmen — Gabby Blanco, Natalie Frost.
Season outlook: The Ramblers should be competitive this year within the MVC. They have their first and second singles back in Megan Chamberland and Sarah Spahr. There are roles to fill, but the players are athletic and picking up skills fast. Newcomers Blanco, Frost and Freeney look impressive and will all be competing for spots early on. A big key, Merrill says, will be working on consistency. The seniors are taking the lead and setting a positive tone, and Winthrop has a nice mix of experience and newcomers that are athletic, competitive and driven to meet their goals for the season.
