LISBON — A big yellow school bus is parked in front of Lisbon High School.
Why?
“Everybody’s asking that,” high school receptionist Barbara Grinder said with a laugh. “It’s for sale.”
Some summer camps might want a bus to transport campers. Or you could turn it into a camper, high school staff said.
Route 196 gets a lot of traffic, so it’s in a high-visibility spot.
“We’ve had a lot of success placing used equipment we are selling on the lawn,” Superintendent Rick Green said.
In January the bus had 120,000 miles on it. It’s in good condition. As to the price, Green said the bus is being sold by sealed bids.
If you’re in the market, contact the Lisbon School Department. Bidding closes May 12.

CMMC’s sweet new building
AUBURN — I was recently visiting a Central Maine Community College class for a story. Was I surprised when I walked through the newest building, The Learning Tower,” which houses the new main entrance on the first floor and classrooms on the upper floors.
It opened in 2015; guess I hadn’t been to CMCC in a while.
Walking inside I was thinking, “Where am I?!” It doesn’t feel like the old CMCC. The lobby and adjacent rooms feel like an HGTV design style of a posh, modern hotel.
Very attractive, welcoming and comfortable. Kudos to the planners!
