SUMNER — The Congregational Church of East Sumner will serve a community supper with Mexican food at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, May 6, at 50 Main St., Route 219.

Proceeds benefit the outreach mission of the Church.

NORWAY — Bolsters Mills United Methodist Church and the Norway Grange will serve weekly community breakfasts from 8 to 9 a.m. Saturdays at the Norway Grange on Whitman Street.


This is a location change from the American Legion Hall and will be in effect through the summer months. 

All are welcome to a hot breakfast and fellowship.

Cost: Free.

AUBURN — The Trinity Jubilee Center’s 13th annual Empty Bowls Supper will be held from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Sunday, May 7, at the First Universalist Church, 169 Pleasant St.

Potters from across the state have donated hundreds of bowls, plates, and mugs and more than a dozen local restaurants are donating dinner. Everyone is invited to purchase a piece of pottery, eat dinner with their family, and enjoy live fiddle music by Greg and Jessie Boardman.


The Jubilee Center is a community center in downtown Lewiston, open six days a week. Proceeds from the Empty Bowls Supper benefit the center’s programs, including a soup kitchen, food pantry, resource center, refugee integration program, and day shelter.

Every week 500 meals are served and 300 bags of groceries are distributed to those struggling to feed their families.

Admission is free, and dinner is free with the purchase of pottery. Early admission passes are available for purchase online on the Jubilee Center’s website and allow guests to enter 30 minutes early and have first choice of pottery. Those unable to attend can Fill a Bowl online and feed 25 meals.

MECHANIC FALLS — The American Legion will serve breakfast from 7:30 to 9 a.m. Sunday, May 7, at 41 Elm St.


Breakfasts are served on the fist Sunday of the month.

SABATTUS — The Harry J. Conway Post 135, American Legion, will hold a monthly community breakfast from 7:30 to 10:30 a.m. Sunday, May 7, at 40 Island Road.

Proceeds will support community and veteran’s programs.

A future breakfasts will take place on the first Sunday of June.

Cost: $7 per adult; $3 per child 10 and younger.



RUMFORD — A fundraiser supper open to members and guests will be held from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 10, at the Lodge on River Street. 

Cost: $8 per person.

ANDOVER — A benefit spaghetti dinner and silent auction will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday, May 13, at the Andover Congregational Church.


The proceeds will be used to help pay medical expenses for Twyla Dolloff, a local resident, who was diagnosed with cancer.

DURHAM — Acacia Lodge will serve a public baked bean supper from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Saturday, May 13, on Route 136. 

FARMINGTON — Old South First Congregational Church in Farmington will serve its monthly community luncheon with chicken stew at noon on Saturday, May 13.

Delivery service will be available in Farmington.

HARRISON — The Harrison Friendly Riders Snowmobile Club will hold a landowner appreciation dinner and fundraiser at 5 p.m. Saturday, May 13, at the Harrison VFW.

Trail landowners will eat for free.

Details on menu and entertainment will be announced. Those attending may bring their own beverage.


The event will include door prizes, a 50/50 drawing and a raffle. 

LEWISTON — The Calvary United Methodist Church bean supper has been cancelled for Saturday, May 13.

LISBON FALLS — Knights of Columbus of the Holy Trinity Church will serve a corn beef and cabbage dinner from 4:45 to 6 p.m. Saturday, May 13, at the parish hall, 67 Frost Ave.

Cost: $8 for adults; $4 for children younger than 12; $18 for families with children  younger than 12.

LIVERMORE FALLS — The Emmanuel Assembly of God serves monthly community lunches with sup and salads from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the second Saturday of the month at the American Legion Hall, 17 Reynolds Ave. 

The next EAG community lunch will be on May 13.

MEXICO — Mexico Congregational Church, UCC (the “Green Church”) will serve a chicken pie supper at 5 p.m. Saturday, May 13, at the church, 163 Main St.


Takeouts will be available at 5:30 p.m.

OTISFIELD — The East Otisfield Free Baptist Church is having an old-fashioned baked ham dinner Saturday, May 13, at the East Otisfield Free Baptist Church on Rayville Road.

There will be two seatings at with the first sitting at 4:30 and 5:30 p.m.

PARIS — A benefit dinner for Responsible Pet Care will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday, May 13, at the Paris Fire Station.

There will also be a 50/50 raffle. All proceeds will directly benefit the animals at the shelter.

Cost: $8 per plate for adults, $5 per plate for kids younger than 11.


RUMFORD — Rumford Grange No. 115 will host a baked bean and casserole public supper from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday, May 13, at the Grange hall. 

There will be a 50/50 raffle. Proceeds to benefit the grange.

Cost: $8 for adults; $5 for children. 

FRYEBURG — The fifth annual Mothers Day lunch to benefit the Charlotte Hobbs Memorial Library will be served Sunday, May 14, at the Old Saco Inn. Seating will be at noon and 1:30 p.m. 

Tickets may be purchased at the library, 227 Main Street in Lovell.


Cost: $25 for adults; $15 for children 12 and younger.
