AUBURN — Laurette A. (Aube) Drouin, 88, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 20, 2017 at the Hospice House of Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice with her daughter and son-in-law by her side.

She was born in Lewiston on October 31, 1928, the daughter of the late Albert and Eva (Labreque) Aube. She was a lifelong resident of Lewiston and recently resided at the Chapman House in Auburn.

Laurette married Maurice P. Drouin on June 26, 1948, and they shared a loving marriage of 50 years until his passing in 1998. Laurette was educated in Lewiston schools and in 1982, graduated from Mid-State Business School in Auburn with an associate degree in accounting and business management. She worked for 13 years for Ste. Marie Federal Credit Union as an assistant treasurer and bookkeeper until she retired in 1993.

Laurette was a devout Catholic, regularly attending Mass at the Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul. For many years, she was a Eucharistic minister at Holy Cross Church. She belonged to the Senior Citizens and Ladies of Holy Cross, serving one term as president. She was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 106 Ladies Auxiliary and Knights of Columbus Fourth Degree Wives, serving one term as vice president and also a La Rencontre member, serving as treasurer-secretary.

Laurette was a loving wife and mother. She was a wise, caring, compassionate woman who truly enjoyed life. She always had a great smile for all she met. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, reading, always expanding her knowledge, playing cards, and visiting new places.

Laurette is survived by her daughter, Diane Frizzell; and son-in-law, Ronald Frizzell of Englewood, Florida, and Glen, New Hampshire; three sisters; Fern Lavallee of Methuen, Massachusetts, Jackie King and her husband, Mike, of Greene; Constance DeBlois of Lewiston; a sister-in-law, Sylvia Mercader Aube of Folsom, California; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Maurice; her four brothers, Lucien Aube of Cleveland, Ohio, Roland Aube of Rochester, New York, Bertrand Aube of Dover, New Hampshire, and Robert Aube of Millbrae, California; and one sister, Claudette (Aube) Biliotta of Haverhill, Massachusetts.
