High school sports coverage is proudly supported by Maine State Credit Union.
Coach: Stacen Doucette (sixth year)
Region: D South
Last year’s record: 6-3, lost in Class D South semifinals
Returning athletes: Seniors — Darryn Bailey (WR/FS), Cruz Poirier (RB/OLB); Junior — Reid Cote (FB/LB).
Key losses: Adam Mooney (OL/DL), Matthew Strout (QB/DE), .Steven Gilbert (Slot/DB), Austin Noble (FB/DE), Danny Buteau (WR/DB).
Promising newcomers: Seniors — Colby Webster (WR/CB), D.J. Pushard (DE), Drouin Bailey (T/DT), Bryce Harlow (DT); Junior — Ethan Barnett (RB/QB/LB); Freshman — Gavin Rawstron (QB).
What to expect: The Raiders have new faces at a lot of positions, which will force them to be patient while they develop in hopes of peaking at the end of the season. The plus side is there is a lot of competition for playing time. Bailey is one of the biggest offensive threats in Class D, and the Raiders will be creative in giving him the ball. Rawstron and Barnett should both see time at QB. The lines are inexperienced but have good depth.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
