The Southern Maine Squadron of Sampson Air Force Base meets for lunch in August in Auburn. The group will meet at noon Thursday, Sept. 14, at Governor’s Restaurant, 1185 Lisbon St., Lewiston. Sampson was first a Naval training center from 1942 to 1945, then an Air Force basic training facility from 1950 to 1956. All veterans and their guests are welcome. FMI: 207-577-1766, 207-657-4909.
