SOUTH PARIS — Robert B. Houle, 75, formerly of Lisbon, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 3, in South Paris at the Maine Veterans’ Home.
He was born April 4, 1942, a son of the late Marcel and Rose A. (Pinette) Houle. He served his country for 20 years before retiring in 1983 as a master sergeant. During part of those 20 years he was a recruiter in both Lewiston and Portland. On May 1, 1965, he married the love of his life, Lorraine Banville, in Lisbon, at St. Ann’s Church. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Lisbon Falls. He was also a founding member of “Helping Hands Fellowship,” Left Hand Club and Lisbon Snowmobilers Club. Robert loved tinkering and helping others using many of the skills he acquired over his life. He was a good father, husband and neighbor to all who were in need.
Robert is survived by his wife of 52 years, Lorraine (Banville) Houle; his son, Robert Houle of Boston, Mass.; three sisters, Claudette Fisher and husband Adolph, Georgette Doyon and Claire Morin and husband Paul; two brothers, Richard Houle and wife, Arlene and Peter Houle; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents he was predeceased by a son, David Houle, who passed away two weeks after being born.
