DIXFIELD — The Mystic Valley Grange will have an indoor yard sale from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 20, next to the East Dixfield Fire Station.

There will be many useful items. All proceeds to benefit the Grange and community projects.

LEWISTON — Lewiston Public Library will begin its paperback book sale on Friday, Oct. 20.

Paperback books will cost 25 cents each, or five paperbacks for $1, a 50 percent reduction of the regular cost of paperbacks.

This special sale will feature hundreds of paperback books from a variety of genres and will continue through Friday, Nov. 18.

Proceeds from the Friends of the Library book sale are used to fund additional book purchases, library programs, special events, and other items not covered by the annual city budget.

Other items will still be for sale, including hardcover books for $1, children and teen items for 25 cents, DVDs and CDs for $1, and National Geographic magazines for 25 cents.

RUMFORD — A benefit for Lisa Robertson, who is battling cancer, will be held on Saturday, Oct. 21, at the Rumford Eagles Lodge, 13 Oxford Ave.

Doors will open at 11 a.m. for the 1 to 5 p.m. event, which includes a Chinese auction and a 50/50 raffle. Drawing of tickets will be at 2 p.m.

WATERFORD — The Wilkins House’s last indoor yard sale of the season will be from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, Oct. 21, on Plummer Hill next to the Waterford Congregational Church.

Shoppers can shake dice and get a percentage off their purchase.

FARMINGTON — A Chinese auction to benefit the Fairbanks School’s winter maintenance fund will be held Sunday, Oct. 22, at 508 Fairbanks Road.

Bidding starts at noon where bidders bid with tickets on items of interest. The drawing of tickets will be at 1 p.m. Winners must be in attendance. 

Five tickets cost $10. Those who buy 25 tickets will get five free. 

There will be more than 100 items to bid, a door prize and refreshments.

CHESTERVILLE — The North Chesterville Extension Homemakers will hold a bake sale Tuesday, Nov. 7, during elections at the Chesterville Town Office on the Dutch Gap Road.

There will not be a bake sale on Tuesday, Oct. 24.
