County Agent Harold J. Shaw, who has now moved to Auburn where an office will be found for him, is making plans for much work among the farmers the coming season. It has been a privilege for us to be a part of this great event.”

It was moving day Thursday for six Oxford County families who received keys to their new homes built under the Oxford Hills Self-Help Housing program. Each residence passed inspection this week. The Oxford Hills Self-Help Housing project was resurrected in 1992 after a 20-year hiatus in this state. The project is open to low-income, first-homeowner families who agree to help build portions of all six houses included in the project sponsored by Community Concepts and funded by mortgages obtained through the Farmers Home Administration.
