French Conversation Group to meet

LEWISTON — The Lewiston Public Library and the Franco Center are joining to create a French conversation group which will meet monthly at the library.

The group’s main goal is to expand upon or continue the French language skills and Francophone cultural knowledge of the participants. All who are interested in learning French, speaking it on a more regular basis or sharing their abilities and knowledge are encouraged to attend, native speakers and beginners alike.

The kickoff event is scheduled for 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, March 24, at the library. This will be an opportunity for anyone who is interested in attending the group to meet one another, begin utilizing their language skills and discuss what they would like to do during the meetings.

There will be small group conversations as well as a presentation by Jacynthe Jacques, Cecile Thornton and Winston Antoine of the Franco Center to begin the event. Light refreshments will be served.
