Emergency personnel work to extricate David Clifford, 38, of Lewiston, who was trapped in his 2015 Toyota Camry on the Bernard Lown Peace Bridge in Lewiston shortly before 8 a.m. Monday. According to witnesses, tire tracks and debris, he was driving his car from Lewiston toward Auburn. The car traveled onto the sidewalk, hit the bridge and flipped. No other vehicles were involved and only Clifford was in his car. He was conscious, but not alert when taken to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston for treatment for a possible head injury, police said.
