Wayne library holding 5K fundraiser

WAYNE — Cary Library’s 7th Annual 5K Walk/Run/Race is set for Aug. 4.

The race starts at 9 a.m. at the Wayne Elementary School, 48 Pond Road. Registration begins at 8:15. The race course is primarily flat and fast, with one good hill.

There will be an official timer, and prizes for the top finishers. Times will be published on the library’s webpage.

Runners will go first, then fast walkers in front followed by children, pets, strollers and pet walkers. The family-friendly event includes prizes for all children participating.

There will be plenty for spectators to do along the route, including the Farmer’s Market, Cary’s Bake & Book Sale and the Lobster Roll Lunch.

Registration forms can be downloaded at www.cary-memorial.lib.me.us/ or picked up at the library. Drop off registrations and checks at the library or mail them to Cary Memorial Library, P.O. Box 127 Wayne, ME 04284. Forms can also be completed the morning of the race. The fee is $15, with proceeds to benefit the library.
