LEWISTON — A Lewiston man was listed in stable condition Monday at Central Maine Medical Center with injuries from a motorcycle crash at Main and Lincoln streets late Saturday afternoon.

Edward Major, 53, was riding a 1999 Harley-Davidson when it hit the back of a 2006 Toyota Highlander driven by Annete Douglass, 53, of Mechanic Falls, police Lt. David St. Pierre said. Douglass was slowing to stop at a traffic light at 3:55 p.m., he said.

Major was knocked unconscious and taken to the hospital with serious injuries, the officer said.

Douglass was standing outside her vehicle after the crash.
