LEWISTON – Elizabeth Susan Lawless, known to everyone as Betty, passed away on Nov. 25, 2018. She was born on Jan. 13, 1949, in Canton, Mass., to Frederick and Florence Lawless (Pulsifer).

Betty loved coffee, listening to music, and also loved sitting in the sun, curled up in her blanket (inside and outside). She very much enjoyed going out to eat at any fast food or pizza place. She loved taking walks and long rides and was a huge fan of thrill rides, like roller coasters and the Dragons Descent at Funtown. She loved going to the ocean and sunbathing. She disliked getting wet and any household chores.

She really enjoyed going out and making the most of everyday.

Betty was very particular about her clothing and had to have a white top and either blue jeans or jean shorts.

She really seemed to enjoy her life and her staff at Ascentria and we considered ourselves to be her family. She and her roommate have known each other for well over 30 years. She enjoyed attending the Social Learning Center for more than two decades, and enjoyed music at her day program, which she attended every week.

She is survived by her loving, longtime home support staff from Ascentria, and community support staff and participants from the Social Learning Center, and will be greatly missed by her home staff, who have known her and worked with her for many years: Misty, 5-plus years; Judy, 7-plus years; Joanne, 21-plus years; and AnneMarie for 18-plus years.

A small gathering will be held on Jan. 11, 1:30 p.m. at Elizabeth’s home, 32 Elliott Ave. Lewiston. Burial will take place at a later date.
