SOUTH PARIS – Ruth Marguerite (McIntire) Doyle went to be with her Lord on Jan. 11, 2019, after a long battle with Multiple Sclerosis. Ruth was born in Portland to Marguerite L. and Clark H. McIntire Sr. on Sept. 8, 1944. She was a graduate of Portland High School and lived for many years in the Portland area before moving to Oxford County. Growing up she spent many summers with relatives on Great Chebeague Island and at Sebago Lake.

Ruth worked for the Portland Court System before moving to Oxford where she worked for Robinson Manufacturing for a number of years. She married James Doyle in 1972. Jim and Ruth traveled often during their younger years and enjoyed visiting new places. She was a fighter and wasn’t willing to let MS rule her life, but gracefully fought the disease for over 30 years. Ruth loved to entertain and was an excellent cook, traits she learned from her mother and aunt, Mildred Taliento.

Ruth was predeceased by her mother, Marguerite, father, Clark Sr.; and brother, Clark H. McIntire Jr.

She is survived by her husband, James; son, Thomas Williams, wife, Angie and grandson, Thomas, granddaughter, Brandi and husband, Tracy Webber; stepchildren, Daniel, Cathy (Morris), Thomas, and Ronald Doyle; brother, David McIntire and wife, Mary, and sister-in-law, Marion; and several nieces and nephews.

Ruth’s family wants to thank the staff at the Maine Veterans Home in South Paris for their compassion and care during this time.

No funeral is planned at this time
