Last week’s Mystery Photo only garnered a half-dozen correct answers. But a few respondents not only knew it was the sign above Auburn Pawn & Firearms on 36 Mill St. in Auburn, but also provided us with additional details about it being in the short section of Mill Street between Always Fresh Larochelle’s seafood market and Corner Laundromat on the corner of Mill and Broad streets. One “old-timer” also remembered it was once the home of Hi-Style Caterers, which had a fleet of shiny trucks that would depart from there with hot food to sell to workers at area businesses on their breaks. In a random drawing from all the correct entries, Dori-Anne Tarr of New Gloucester was chosen as the winner of a $20 Hannaford gift card. She was president of New Auburn Little League for 25 years and “spent a lot of time in New Auburn.”
