Don Smith displays the American flag Tuesday on the front porch of his Lewiston home. “It’s more of an honor to the guys that I served with and to those that died over there,” the 77-year-old Vietnam War veteran said. Smith served during the war with the U.S. Army 1st Cavalry Division from 1966 to 1967. Afterward, he drove trucks for over 50 years until Parkinson’s disease prevented him from doing so. “That is what Agent Orange does to you,” he said about the chemical used to strip trees of foliage during the war.
