Claire P. Levesque

AUBURN – Claire P. Levesque, 58, of Lewiston, passed away peacefully on May 10, 2022 at the Androscoggin Hospice House in Auburn after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

Claire Pamela Levesque was born in Lewiston on July 14, 1963, the oldest of three daughters born to Raymond and Cecile (Herbert) Levesque. Claire was a 1981 graduate of Lewiston High School and pursued her lifelong dream of becoming a Registered Nurse at St. Mary’s School of Nursing. Claire went on to work on the Cardiac (Telemetry) and Intensive Care Units at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center.

Later on in her career, she worked on the skilled Rehabilitation Unit and Long term Care Units at St. Mary’s d’Youville Pavilion. Claire will be remembered by her coworkers for her outstanding knowledge and mentorship. Her patients and families will remember her humble service as a caring and compassionate nurse an strong patient advocate.

Claire was a devout Catholic and member of Prince of Parish, where she enjoyed volunteering her time and many talents. She also enjoyed scripture study, reflective writing, music, crocheting, crafts and playing board games with her mom and sister Rachel. Claire had a special love for rainbows, butterflies, clouds, seagulls and most especially her dog, CC.

Claire is survived by her sisters Diane (Alan) Blanchard of Cumberland, Rachel Lévesque of Lewiston, and two nephews, Caleb of Cumberland and Matthew of Andover, Mass. She is also survived by nine aunts, Mildred Rioux of Auburn, Albertine (Rosaire) Poisson of Lewiston, Madeline Bowie of Connecticut, Evelyn Jean of Lewiston, Lucille (Richard) Gilbert of Poland, Marcella Hebert of Lewiston, Bernadette Posnick, Janet Baron and Sandra Dumais of Auburn, and three uncles, Roger (Theresa) Hebert of Millinocket, Reginald (Claudette) Hebert of Guerette and Marcel Hebert of Auburn.

Claire was predeceased by her parents Raymond and Cecile (Hebert) Levesque; and brother Gary who passed away at birth.

Visitation will be at The Fortin Group Funeral Home, 70 Horton Street, Lewiston on Sunday May 15, from 2 – 4 p.m. and 6 – 8 p.m.

The funeral Mass will be at Holy Cross Church in Lewiston, on Monday May 16th at 11 a.m. Committal prayers immediately following the Mass will be at St. Peter’s Mausoleum Chapel.
