Lloyd E. Carter

AUBURN – Lloyd died peacefully on Sept. 30, 2022. Just a month before he was still independent and living life his way, on his terms, just the way he liked it. His cancer caught up and took him down quickly, but the caring hands at the Hospice house supported us immensely.

There is more to be said about him in his 96 years than can be said here. He was a WWII veteran of the US Navy and earned a degree at Purdue. He was a talented woodsman, builder, and electrician with the IBEW local For over 70 years.

Lloyd enjoyed going to the casino and playing on won money until the day he passed. He was a frugal, stoic man but cared deeply for his close family and late wife Edythe. They shared a full life together and cherished their home in Troy living like “old hippies” farming, sapping, hunting, fishing, and snowmobiling. They also traveled and saw all of the world they wanted to see in a 5th wheel camper on trips to Alaska, Nevada, and Newfoundland. He last went to Alaska just 10 short years ago in a bunked minivan he outfitted himself, all on his own.

He is survived by family who loved him in Maine and Massachusetts and friends who will miss him greatly.
