I am writing regarding a photo by Russ Dillingham that appeared in the Oct. 30 edition of the Lewiston Sun Journal in the Sports section. The heading of the photo: “Rivals clash in Auburn.”
The photo shows two high school soccer players: Abduljabaar Abbi of Lewiston High School and Abdihakim Daud of Edward Little High School.
In the photo, Lewiston’s Mr. Abbi is consoling rival Edward Little player, Mr. Daud, after Lewiston won the soccer game with a 1-0 win.
To me, that photo surely shows what true “good sportsmanship” looks like. Congratulations to both the Lewiston and Edward Little teams. Well done.
