100 Years Ago: 1923

Hats of soft felt in all colors and white are largely dependent upon a ribbon band and bow for trimming. Ribbons to match the suits worn with the white felts are popular. A particularly stunning white felt, trimmed with medium width moire of absolutely fetching for the woman or girl who loves sport hats.

50 Years Ago: 1973

The Senior Youth Fellowship of the Court Street Baptist Church of Auburn is sponsoring a program by students from Gordon College, Wenham, Mass., at 7:30 Saturday evening, May 19.

This group, known as the Mathetai Singers, will present an evening of folk music at the church, one which should be of interest to young people of high school and college age, as well as others who enjoy gospel music.

25 Years Ago: 1998

(Sun-Journal photo) This group of Wives of the Wallace Assembly, Knights of Columbus, are busy making decorations for the Wallace Assembly May Ball being held Saturday evening, May 19, at the KC, Home in Lewiston. They are, left to right, Mrs. Conrad Lebel, Mrs. Willard Rossignol, Mrs. Normand Caron, Mrs. Joseph St. Hilaire, Mrs. Arthur Roy, Mrs. Raoul Pinette and Mrs. Gerard Gagnon. Another committee member, Mrs. Newman Parent, was absent when the picture was taken. Ball activities will open with a social hour at 6:30, followed by a banquet at 7 o’clock and dancing.
