Drivers with names that start with “J” had a good day at the Pro All Stars Series Super Late Model feature at White Mountain Motorsports Park on Saturday.

Johnny Clark was the king of the mountain once again, with Joey Doiron, Jeremy Davis and Jimmy Hebert following the Farmingdale racer to the finish of the 150-lap race.

It’s the second straight PASS victory at the North Woodstock, New Hampshire, oval for Clark, and his sixth overall. He also won the Father’s Day feature at the track in June for his first PASS victory of the season.

The runner-up showing provided some measure of redemption for Doiron, who had his victory in the previous PASS race at Oxford Plains Speedway disqualified following post-race inspection.

Max Cookson, who placed second at the previous race at White Mountain and who currently leads the PASS North and National point standings, broke up the run of Js with his fifth-place finish Saturday.

The PASS Mods had the same podium trio as in June, but with a different winner and third-place finisher. Ryan Hewins took the checkered flag for the 40-lap feature this time around, with points leader Brandon Varney the runner-up once again and Ryan Ripley settling for third.

The New England Supermodified Series also got its feature in before the rain came Saturday. Dan Bowles won the 50-lap race, while Jeffrey Battle and Bobby Timmons rounded out the podium.

The 350SMAC series had its feature rained out, though the tour is hoping to return to the track this season.

OXFORD 250 UPS LAP LEADER ANTE

Since 1981, there’s been incentive to lead the first 249 laps of the Oxford 250, not just the final lap. That’s when race founder and then-Oxford Plains Speedway owner Bob Bahre introduced prize money for the leader of each lap. What started out as $50 per lap was doubled to $100 a lap three years later.

Current Oxford Plains owner Tom Mayberry announced Monday that he’s upping the ante for this year’s 50th running of the big race. Lap sponsors now have the option to pitch in $150 for their designated lap, with $100 going to the leader, $30 to the second-place car and $20 to the car in third across the stripe.

“It seems like the lap money almost always plays a factor in race strategy. It will be interesting to see if second and third place drivers let that money affect their decisions as the race progresses,” Mayberry said in a news release.

The half-way lap, No. 125, is worth $250.

WISCASSET WINNERS

The two divisions of Wiscasset Speedway’s Group 1 had double features Saturday, after those divisions suffered multiple rainouts earlier in the season.

Hartford’s Ben Burgess won both 25-lap features in the 4-Cylinder Pro division, while Nick Morton took the first 30-lap win in the Super Streets and Mo Young captured the second.

Nick Hinkley was the winner in the Pro Stocks division’s lone feature of the night, and David Cook won his second race in three days across two tracks by topping the field in Wiscasset’s Thunder 4 Mini division.

Wiscasset also hosted a 100-lap enduro race, in which Ben Audet outlasted the field.

The 350SMAC series is scheduled to join Wiscasset’s Group 2 this Saturday.

THURSDAY ‘MAYHEM’

Oxford Plains Speedway held an enduro of its own Thursday, as part of the track’s second Motor Mayhem event of the year.

Josh Thurlow bested Bill Penfold and the rest of the field in the 50-lap race. Phillip Oneil and Aaron Merrill each won spectator drags.

In Oxford Acceleration Series action, winners included: David Cook (Rebels), Chloe Kiley (Ladies), Kyle Glover (Trucks), Johnathon Emerson (Outlaws), Ethan Guptill (Cruisers) and Keith Stuart (Varsity Thunder Stocks).

The Oxford Championship Series divisions are scheduled to be back in action Saturday.
