LIVERMORE FALLS — Former Town Manager Amanda Allen will receive $77,000 to settle a discrimination charge she filed against the town with the Maine Human Rights Commission. Of that amount, the town paid $44,500 and its insurer paid the balance.

In addition, the Rudman Winchell Law Firm that represented Allen, will be paid $13,000 through insurance.

Allen resigned as town manager June 6 after she, her attorney, the town and its attorney reached a settlement agreement.

The town paid $44,500 to settle the claim. Allen is being paid in weekly increments. Maine Municipal Association Property and Casualty Risk Pool is to pay or has paid $45,500 including $4,500 representing wages the risk pool paid to the town to pay to Allen.

Allen is slated to receive $28,000 from the risk pool for compensatory damages, according to the insurance portion of the settlement.

The Sun Journal filed a Maine Freedom of Access Act request for the settlement and filed one with Maine Municipal Association Property and Casualty Risk Pool to get what insurance covered.

The Livermore Falls Select Board put Allen on administrative leave in early January to have allegations some residents outlined against her in a nonbinding document investigated by a third-party attorney. She returned to work in March after no wrongdoing was found.
