LISBON — The Town Council approved the first reading of changes to the advisory board ordinance at Tuesday’s meeting, making language more reflective of the current form of governing and the current role of advisory boards, Town Manager Glenn Michalowski said.
Current ordinance language for advisory boards goes back to when the town was governed through a town meeting, according to Michalowski.
The amendments include changing the wording to better reflect advisory board’s roles in advising the council and repealing the technology committee, which does not appear to have any members and no longer meets.
Councilors approved the changes with very little discussion.
In other business, councilors approved the second reading of Land Use Ordinance changes regarding affordable housing to comply with new state mandates.
North Star planner Kate Burch, who helped draft the changes, said they needed to be in place by the beginning of 2024.
