DEAR SUN SPOTS: In the January 22 Sun Spots, Linda from Oak Park Senior Housing requested puzzles. I have two plastic totes (about 30 puzzles to a tote) available. I attempted to reach Linda but the telephone number furnished is not a working number. — Gordon, no town

ANSWER: The correct phone number for Linda is 576-2714. She is looking forward to having some new puzzles to share with her community at Oak Park. Thank you!

DEAR SUN SPOTS: The Pleasant St. Drop-in Center is grateful for all the community donations we receive each Wednesday and Saturday! Without everyone’s generosity, we would be unable to sustain the level of resources that we are able to offer our unhoused neighbors and those in need. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!

We are in need of individual toothbrushes, individual and travel size toothpaste, lotion, shampoo, conditioner, and tissues. We also need new trash bags, tampons, and men’s underwear, both boxers and briefs in all sizes.

Donations can be dropped off at the Center on Wednesdays from 9 a.m. to noon and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thank you for being a part of this work. — Sue, no town

ANSWER: Pleasant St. Drop-In Center is at 169 Pleasant St. in Auburn. It is a place for the unhoused to rest, replenish, and rejuvenate.

The Center will celebrate its second anniversary soon and is open only two days per week. It helps nearly 100 people per week. It provides breakfast, a hot meal at lunch, free clothing, and free goods from the “store” including toiletries, outdoor winter clothing, and critical survival gear such as sleeping bags and tents. There is also a shower facility that guests can use.

It is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, operated by volunteers and is always looking for more people to lend a hand.

If you volunteer or are employed by a nonprofit, send Sun Spots your news, your needs, and your fundraiser events. I want to help you get the word out.
