HEBRON — Vincent Ouellet stood tall in net and North Yarmouth Academy beat Kents Hill 4-0 in the championship game of the Travis Roy Maine Prep Cup tournament Monday at Hebron Academy’s Robinson Arena.

Ouellet stopped all 33 shots he faced to earn the shutout.

Adrian Mendoza (two goals, one assist) and Scarborough native Cayne Leive (one goal, two assists) led the Panthers offense. North Yarmouth’s Cole Lambert also provided two assists.

Leive opened the scoring in the first period, with Mendoza assisting. That 1-0 lead stuck into the first intermission.

A pair of area products assisted on Yarmouth native Hugo Daniel’s second-period goal to put the Panthers up 2-0. Auburn’s Ethan Brochu had the primary assist and Lewiston’s Nick Pelletier provided the secondary.

NYA head coach Mike Warde said that Brochu and Pelletier, along with fellow Lewiston native Connor Wolverton, a defenseman, “were instrumental in the winning effort.”

Mendoza rounded out the scoring with a goal each in the second and third periods.

NYA finished the game with 39 shots on goal.
