LISBON — A firefighter received minor injuries in a house fire at 77 Main St., one of two building fires Monday morning, Fire Chief Nathan LeClair said.

Both fires were determined to be accidental, he said.

Firefighters arrived at the three-story home on Main Street to find flames coming from the first floor and all occupants outside, LeClair said. Due to the type of construction, interior fire and low staffing, a third alarm was called for mutual aid.

The family of three were put in touch with American Red Cross.

While at the scene, a second call came about 10:51 a.m. for a garage fire at 1 Bisbee St. The fire jumped to the split-level house just feet away.

“Mutual aid fill-in units responded along with other units that were able to clear the Main Street scene,” LeClair said. “Freeport Engine 5 arrived first and was able to knock down the bulk of the fire on the initial attack.”

LeClair said crews were able to keep the fire contained to the exterior of the home, though flames did extend into the roof.

No injuries were reported from either fire, though one firefighter received minor injuries and was transported to MidCoast Hospital where he was treated and released, LeClair said.

Mutual aid was provided at both scenes by fire departments from Durham, Sabattus, Lewiston, Topsham, Brunswick, Bowdoinham, Richmond, Freeport and
Yarmouth.
