Ellie Porter of Edward Little and Landon Marquis of Camden Hills and won the giant slalom titles at the Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Alpine skiing championships on Tuesday at Black Mountain in Rumford.
Marquis won the boys race with a total time of 1 minute, 55.46 seconds. He completed his first run in 59.27 seconds and his second in 56.19.
Kaden Salsbury of Skowhegan was second in 1:56.44, Edward Little’s Carter Hill (1:56.65) and Sawyer Shaman (1:58.55) placed third and fourth, respectively, and Mt. Blue’s Finn Morton (1:59.56) came in fifth.
Porter won the girls race in 1:59.78. She finished her first run in 1:00.83 and her second in 58.95 seconds. Haley Marquis of Camden Hills was second in 2:04.30, while Leavitt’s Sophie Simard (2:05.32), Mt. Blue’s Melina McKendry (2:05.50) and Oxford Hills’ Alyson Cash (2:07.25) rounded out the top five.
Edward Little scored 783 points to win the boys team title. Camden Hills was second with 750, followed by Mt. Blue (741) and Hampden Academy (718).
Camden Hills won the girls team title with 778 points. Mt. Blue was second with 755, followed by Edward Little (750), Oxford Hills (748) and Hampden Academy (701).
BOYS BASKETBALL
ST. DOMINIC 65, OLD ORCHARD BEACH 40: Jack Brocke hit four 3-pointers and poured in 20 points as the Saints (16-1) rolled past the Seagulls (7-10) in Old Orchard Beach.
Taylor Varney made three 3s and contributed 18 points to the victory, which is St. Dom’s 11th in a row.
Trot Moody led Old Orchard Beach with 17 points and Brady Plante scored 11.
LEAVITT 60, WINSLOW 50: Jacob Gibbs scored 19 points as the Hornets won in Winslow.
Colin Schlobohm added 16 points and Riley Meisner had 12 for Leavitt (9-8).
Braden Rodrigue led the Raiders (10-7) with 29 points.
SCARBOROUGH 66, EDWARD LITTLE 59: Carter Blanche had 11 of his 16 points in the third quarter as the Red Storm (8-9) rallied from a six point halftime deficit to beat the Eddies (10-7) in Scarborough.
Will MacDonald added nine points in the third quarter on three 3-pointers and finished with 22 points for Scarborough.
Diing Maiwen had 22 points, Cedric Makelele added 16 and Akol Maiwen had 10 for Edward Little.
THORNTON ACADEMY 75, OXFORD HILLS 66: Wyatt Benoit poured in 41 points and the Golden Trojans earned their 10th consecutive win by beating the Vikings in Paris.
Benoit drained six 3-pointers and made 11 of 13 free throws. Simon Gellis contributed 13 points for Thornton (15-2).
Carter Holbrook made three treys and scored a team-best 20 points for Oxford Hills (7-10). Cam Pulkkinen added 12 points and Brady Delamater finished with 10.
YORK 67, POLAND 56: Reese MacDonald scored 21 of his game-high 27 points in the second half as the visiting Wildcats (18-0) pulled way from the Knights (12-5) in Poland.
Lukas Bouchard added 18 points, and Patrick Beauchesne and Callan Forbes each finished with eight for York, which finishes the regular season undefeated.
Damon Martin led Poland with 20 points followed by Nick Jamo with 13 points and Alex Mains with 12.
TEMPLE ACADEMY 72, RANGELEY 30: Peyton Reckards had 22 points and 10 rebounds as the Bereans earned the win in Waterville.
Ricardo Louis added 16 points and 10 rebounds for Temple Academy (8-10), which led 29-12 at the half.
Keegan O’Neil scored eight points for Rangeley (4-13).
CHEVERUS 49, LEWISTON 48: Jameson Fitzpatrick’s 18 points led the Stags (14-3) as they held off the Blue Devils (8-9) in Lewiston.
Leo McNabb added 10 points for Cheverus, which enters is final regular season game as the No. 1 team in the Class AA North Heal standings.
Lewiston’s Abdirahman Dakane led all scorers with 22 points, highlighted by five 3 pointers. Adam Zeininger added 13 and Lonnie Thomas scored nine.
GIRLS BASKETBALL
BOOTHBAY 49, LISBON 30: Maddie Orchard’s 12 points paced a balanced attack in the Seahawks’ victory over the Greyhounds in each team’s season finale in Lisbon.
Tatum French (11 points) and Arabella Hodgdon (10) also scored in double figures and Lilly Brown finished with nine points for Boothbay (5-13).
Hannah Perron led Lisbon (0-18) with nine points, while Elizabeth Ferero scored eight.
CHEVERUS 64, LEWISTON 36: Kyle Lamson scored 24 points, Addison Jordan added 12 and the Stags (12-5) beat the Blue Devils (3-14) in Portland.
Anna Goodman made three 3-pointers and scored nine points for Cheverus.
Bailey Tardif-Mockler had 12 points and Ella Beaudoin 10 for Lewiston.
OXFORD HILLS 61, THORNTON ACADEMY 45: Ella Pelletier scored 23 points and Gabbie Tibbetts put up 21 as the Vikings (15-2) extended their win streak to nine games with a win over the Golden Trojans (7-10) in Saco.
Pelletier made 10 of 13 free throws, and Tibbetts drained five 3-pointers. Maddy Herrick added 11 points for Oxford Hills.
Sienna Eldred, who made 11 of 17 free throws, led Thornton with 21 points, while Brooke Bodnar scored 12.
LEAVITT 55, WINSLOW 25: Caitlyn McCoy scored 21 and Gabby Smith had 19 points for the Hornets (11-6) in their win over the Black Raiders (2-15) in Turner.
McCoy drained five 3-pointers, while Smith made seven field goals and five free throws.
Bailey Richard led Winslow with nine points, and three other players scored four each.
EDWARD LITTLE 54, SCARBOROUGH 23: Freshmen Elizabeth Galway and Charlotte Ranger came up big to help the Red Eddies (11-6) rout the Red Storm (7-10) in Auburn.
Galway scored a game-high 13 points and Ranger finished with nine. Layla Facchiano contributed 12 points and Alexis Creaser had 11 for Edward Little.
Avery Bastian hit two 3-pointers to lead Scarborough with six points.
BRUNSWICK 53, GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 46: Lexi Morin and Julianna Morin finished with 14 points apiece to lead the Dragons (9-8) over the Patriots (13-4) at Brunswick.
Kyra Fortier and Eva Harvie added nine points each for Brunswick.
Izzy Morelli and Abbey Steele scored 19 points apiece for Gray-New Gloucester. Steele made five 3-pointers and Morelli hit two.
YORK 57, POLAND 39: Nya Avery scored 18 points and grabbed 12 rebounds, and the Wildcats (11-7) downed the visiting Knights (11-6) in York.
Maddigan Fitzgerald added 13 points for York, which recovered from a 14-9 deficit after one quarter with a 13-2 run to take a 22-16 lead into halftime.
Charlotte Grenier finished with 13 points and Payton Rose had 10 for Poland.
