NASHUA, N.H. – John Robert Campbell, 54, of Nashua, N.H., passed away peacefully on April 11, 2026, surrounded by his family, at Dartmouth Hitchcock Palliative Care in Lebanon, N.H., following a brief illness. Born April 19, 1971, in Portland, Maine, he was the son of the late and Robert and Edith Campbell. John grew up in Yarmouth, the youngest of six children.

John was always known as a kind-hearted and generous soul. Helping others came naturally and easily to him. As a young man, he developed a talent for cooking and made it his career. John loved sharing his knowledge of cooking with others. He loved animals, photography, and spending time with his family.

He was predeceased by his brother, Mark Campbell, and by the love of his life, Susan Johnstone.

He will be sadly missed by his brothers Lawrence Campbell of Yarmouth and Russell Campbell (Debra Hersey) of Poland, sisters Tamara Cooper (Art Dingley) of Auburn and Laurie McGinty (Stephen McGinty) of East Sumner; aunts and uncles Jane and Stephen DeGroat of Auburn and David and Carol Campbell of Westbrook; nieces and nephews Adam, Alison, Alan, Edward, Heather, Kerri, and Alanna; and by several cousins; great-nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to thank the extraordinary staff at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center and its Hospice facility for their excellent and compassionate care of John during his last days.

A memorial service will be planned for later this spring with interment at the family plot in the Webster Cemetery in Freeport.
