INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — Western Maine Transportation Services driver David Webster earned fourth place overall at the 25th annual Community Transportation Association of America Roadeo on June 5 at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.

It was Webster’s fifth top-10 finish. In 2010 and 2009, he had a pair of fifth-place finishes; in 2008, he was second; and in 2006, he took first place.

This year’s fourth-place finish comes after the Wales resident collected his eighth consecutive MaineDOT/Maine Transit Association Roadeo first place title on May 7 at the Owls Head Transportation Museum.

For this record of outstanding finishes, Webster is considered by his peers, both in Maine and across the nation, to be one of the very best transit bus drivers in North America. This year, Webster was competing against 57 other bus drivers and an additional 22 van drivers for the overall win.

The competition started with a 25-question written test. After the written test, drivers took turns on-course, navigating through 10 driving skills tests.
