FARMINGTON — Police investigated toppled stones and an unfounded report of satanic activity in Farmington cemeteries.
A couple who regularly walks through Fairview Cemetery reported to police early Friday morning that headstones were knocked over, Rachel Heseltine, police secretary, read from officer Ryan Rosie’s report.
Rosie found three headstones had been overturned, she said. He was able to put one back on its setting, but the other two were too heavy.
The report stated the stones were not damaged. He thought they could also be placed back on their settings.
Later Friday, police received a call at about 3:31 p.m. from someone who thought there seemed to be some satanic activity in the graveyard behind the Franklin County Courthouse off Anson Street, she said. The person reported lights being seen.
In his report, officer Darin Gilbert said it was unfounded. He did discover some solar memorial lights, she said.
