LISBON FALLS — The hour-long Lenten Taizé Candlelight Service will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 26, at St. Matthew’s. The sanctuary will be darkened, lit only by candles artfully placed to increase meditation.

What is Taizé? Taizé Prayer consists of beautiful, easily learned melodies sung repeatedly to inspire stillness, meditation and contemplation. The worship team Grace will lead this ecumenical service.

Taizé began more than 70 years ago at a monastery in Taizé, France.

St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church, founded in 1906, brings together contemporary worship with ancient ritual, Bible-based preaching, expressions of the Holy Spirit and loving service to others. The church is located on the hill off Route 196. For more information, visit www.StMatthewsLisbon.org.
