WAYNE — The fifth annual Summer Festival will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 2, on the lawn of the Cary Memorial Library’s Williams House, hosted by Friends of the Library.
Special events will be the library 5K Run/Walk, with a 9 a.m. start time at the elementary school and a Kid’s Scramble at 9:45 a.m. There will be prizes.

A bake sale will be held from 10 a.m. to noon, including loon cookies. There will be a book sale table and a book signing with Cathy Cook and her book, “Hauntings from Wayne.”
Loon stories for all ages will be read by Librarian Janet Adelberg from 10:30 to 10:45 a.m. A loon calling contest will follow at 11 a.m., open to all ages with prizes.
Hammered dulcimer music will be performed by Cindy Bandy O’Brien from 11:30 a.m. to noon. A lobster roll lunch, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. under the tent, will include an overstuffed lobster roll, chips, pickles, homemade blueberry cake and drinks, $15; chicken salad or veggie sandwich option, $8.
K-9 dog trials will take place from 1 to 1:30 p.m. with a demonstration of local, nationally acclaimed detection dog maneuvers and background information about their worldwide travels.
Raffles will be going all day and silent auction items will be on display.
