MIAMI (AP) – Hanley Ramirez and Wes Helms each homered and drove in three runs to help the Florida Marlins beat the Houston Astros 9-3 Sunday.

Jeremy Hermida and Mike Jacobs also homered for the Marlins, who salvaged a split of the four-game series. Scott Olsen (7-4) allowed three runs and six hits in 5 1-3 innings to get his first win since June 16 against Toronto.

Hermida hit the first pitch from reliever Wandy Rodriguez in the sixth over the right-field wall to put the Marlins ahead 5-3.

Jacobs homered in the seventh and doubled in a run in the eighth, and Helms also doubled in two runs in the seventh for Florida.

Taylor Buchholz (6-7) yielded four runs and three hits in five innings for Houston, finishing with seven strikeouts and five walks. Buchholz was 3-0 in his previous four starts.

The Marlins made three great plays in the outfield to help hold the Astros in check. Center fielder Alfredo Amezaga made a diving, backhanded catch on Aubrey Huff’s flyball with a runner on first to end the seventh. In the eighth, Hermida made a diving catch on Preston Wilson’s line drive to right.

Left fielder Cody Ross made a one-handed catch against the wall in the ninth on a flyball by Luke Scott.

Helms led off the fifth inning with a home run on the first pitch from Buchholz. Ramirez hit a three-run drive with one out over to give the Marlins a 4-3 lead.

Lance Berkman hit a two-run double and scored a run for Houston.

Notes: The Marlins have homered in 12 of 14 games in July. … This is the third time this season and 28th in franchise history that the Marlins had four home runs in a game. … Ramirez let go of his bat after a first-inning swing. It landed about five rows behind the third-base dugout. … Berkman has 14 RBIs in his last 11 games.
