PARIS – A South Paris man was indicted last week by an Oxford County grand jury and charged with committing three sex crimes against two young girls.

Patrick Duane Whitely, 45, of 28 Oxford St., faces two Class C felony counts of unlawful sexual contact for incidents alleged to have occurred July 1 and 15, 2004, in South Paris.

The girl was under the age of 14, the indictment stated.

He was also charged with a Class A felony of gross sexual assault, after allegedly engaging in a sexual act on Jan. 10, 2005, with a different girl, who was also under the age of 14.

Whitely is to be arraigned Tuesday, May 3, in Oxford County Superior Court in Paris.
