SALEM – Money to finish the Mt. Abram High School tennis courts was approved Tuesday night by the SAD 58 Board of Directors.

The project has been under way for nearly 10 years.

Directors approved using some money from the school’s woodlot fund to pay for paving, nets and posts for three courts. The fund currently has $34,000 in it, with more expected.

Athletic Director Jeff Pillsbury said the boosters have committed to raising $6,700 needed to seal and paint them.

The courts will provide a place for tennis team practices and be available for public use.

It was also announced Tuesday that the superintendent’s office will remain in the Phillips School. It will move to the second floor once construction on the school is complete.
