LEWISTON — “Botanicals, Vitamins and Supplements: To Buy or Not to Buy,” will be the topic of two Central Maine Medical Center Accenting Your Health presentations set for March.

Dr. Katarina Latkovich of Central Maine Internal Medicine will discuss biological-based therapies of complementary and alternative medicine, including botanicals, vitamins and dietary supplements. She will consider which of these products are safe and which are not, how to choose, how to select products that will benefit health and how to interpret Food and Drug Administration recommendations.

Latkovich earned her medical degree at the University of Belgrade in Belgrade, Yugoslavia, and completed residency training at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield, Mass. She is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine.

There is no cost for attending the presentation.

The hour-long program will be presented at 1:30 p.m. Monday, March 8, in Chairmen’s Room A and again at 6 p.m. Thursday, March 11, in Conference Room H. Both conference rooms are located on the lower level of the 12 High Street Medical Office Building, adjacent to CMMC.

Those interested in attending either of the programs are urged to register in advance by calling 795-8448 or e-mailing prevention@cmhc.org. Interpreter services are available upon advance request.
