Auburn- Donald Eugene Gunn, 86, passed away January 24, 2020 at Bolster Heights Assisted Living in Auburn.

 

He was born in Island Lake, WI. on April 26, 1933 to Mr. Raymond and Etta (Randolph) Gunn.

 

In 1951 Donald enlisted in the US Navy and received an honorable discharge in 1955.  Over the years he worked for L & A Transit, Hudson Bus Lines, a supervisor at Blue Lines Inc. before starting his own company in 1972 called Gunn’s Small Engine Sales and Service.  He retired in 2017 due to health concerns.  Donald loved to travel with his wife, Alice (the co-pilot), gardening and animals.

 

There to greet him was the love of his life (65 years) Alice Jacques (Caron) Gunn, his brothers, Marvin, Dean and Darrell Gunn, and his parents.

 

Left to cherish his memory is his daughters, Debra Gunn of Lewiston, Donna Stowe and husband Tom of Mechanic Falls, son, Dennis Gunn and his wife Debbie of Greene, grand-daughter Courtney Barnaby and her husband Sean of Minot, sisters, Dorothy McEathron of WI., Mari Anderson and husband Michael of ID.,  brothers, Richard Gunn and wife Alma of WI., Harold Gunn and wife Sharon of MT., sister-in-laws Lores Gunn of IL., and Jackie Gunn of WI.

Services have been entrusted to The Fortin  Group Funeral Home, Cremation and Monument Services 70 Horton St. Lewiston, ME. 04240.

 

The family wishes to thank the staff at Beacon Hospice and Bolster Heights Assisted Living Facility as they took really great care of him in his last days.

A Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 29, 2020 at The Fortin Group in Lewiston from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm.  A private burial will take place at a later date.
