Boys basketball: Colby Huckins sparks Oxford Hills to win over Cheverus

Huckins comes off bench to score 16 points to help Vikings earn second victory of the season.

The reigning Class AA champions remain undefeated and hands the Stags their first loss.

Lewiston uses a 12-3 run in the final period to pull away from Cheverus for a 64-54 win in first game under new coach Ronnie Turner.

The Bulldogs, last year’s Class A North champs, are 0-2 in their first season in Class B. Next up: Powerhouses Marshwood and Kennebunk.

If the Black Bears need a yard or two, they look to former Cheverus star Joe Fitzpatrick to get it.

The all-star football game, featuring recently graduated high school seniors from across Maine, is scheduled for 4 p.m. Saturday at Thornton Academy.
