Anyone living in Franklin Memorial’s service area is eligible.

FARMINGTON – Local photographers are invited to exhibit their work next month in a community photography exhibit in Franklin Memorial Hospital’s new front lobby.

The show, lasting more than four months, will feature approximately 20 photographs of various sizes, portraying the theme “What is Important to Me.”

“This exhibit will be as much a celebration of life as it is a showplace for local talent,” said hospital president Richard Batt. “Every four months, the exhibit and theme will change – putting on display pictures of holiday traditions, friends, summer fun, parents and more.”

Whether one’s photography is an occasional pastime, a hobby or a passion, all are welcome to participate in this opportunity to have photos displayed at the hospital, as well as on the Franklin Community Health Network’s Web site.

“I anticipate this fun project will generate a lot of community interest,” said Batt. “Friends, relatives and co-workers of the photographers and subjects will be pleased our exhibit honors a person they know.”

Anyone living in Franklin Memorial’s service area is eligible to submit one photograph per theme. Photo entries may be in color or black and white, and must be 4-by-6 inches, 5-by-7, or 8-by-10. All contributed photographs become the property of the hospital and will not be returned. Photos may be reproduced in the Health Network’s publications crediting the photographer, but with no payment of royalties.

The first entry deadline is July 4. Each photograph must have a completed entry form attached to the back of it. The entry form is available by calling 779-2555 or it can be printed from Web site at www.fchn.org.

“What is Important to Me,” the first exhibit, will be on display from July 20 to Dec. 1. Selections will be based on artistic value, quality, diversity and consistency with the theme.

Entries should be directed to Community Relations Office, Franklin Memorial Hospital, 111 Franklin Health Commons, Farmington, ME 04938. For more information call Jill Gray at 779-2555.
