AUBURN – George Greenwood was recently honored with the coveted Realtor of the Year award by the Androscoggin Valley Board of Realtors during its annual meeting at Martindale Country Club.

Greenwood has distinguished himself in the real estate field by providing outstanding service to clients and community, offering expert leadership as the board’s 2002 president, and continues to serve on the board of directors for the Androscoggin Valley Board of Realtors.

Culminating more than 12 years in real estate, Greenwood recently opened his own agency with partner Sandra Tassinary. RE/MAX River Cities, at 195 Center St. in Auburn, specializes in residential, relocation and commercial transactions.

Greenwood is a member of the Maine Association of Realtors, the National Association of Realtors and Androscoggin Valley Board of Directors where his leadership guides professionals within the industry. Greenwood was also recently awarded the Seniors Real Estate Specialist designation.

Greenwood is an active member of the Lewiston/Auburn Economic Growth Council’s Business to Business Trade Show, Toastmasters, Androscoggin County Chamber of Commerce and Rebuild together Lewiston/Auburn Board of Directors.

Greenwood said he was honored to be chosen by his peers. “I especially enjoy the opportunity to meet and help new people, as well as working with my fellow realtors. This award is a great honor. I appreciate the board’s recognition of my work and I look forward to serving the community for many years to come.”
