FARMINGTON – The Red Cross’ brand new Mobile Donor Coach will be open for donations in the Farmington area at the Edgewood Rehabilitation & Living Center, 221 Fairbanks Road, Route 4 from 2 to 7 p.m. Monday, July 14.

“This will be one of the very first times the mobile bus will be open for blood donation,” said Tom Miller of the American Red Cross, “and we are excited to be teaming with the Edgewood Rehabilitation & Living Center for this event.”

With the summer months being an especially difficult time to draw enough volunteer blood donors to meet collection goals.

The Red Cross Blood Services has issued a call for both first time and experienced blood donors in the Farmington area.

The drive is vital to the blood supply so that the American Red Cross can continue to meet the transfusion needs of hospitals throughout Maine, New England and the United States.
