Dear Sun Spots: We here at Montello Manor had a beautiful pair of cockatiels. Unfortunately, one of them passed away on Feb. 17. Now our little Pee Wee is very lonely. Our residents so enjoy these birds. They also feel very sad that Pee Wee is alone.

We were wondering if one of your readers, or one of the local pet stores, would be willing to donate a male cockatiel to us. It would be greatly appreciated. The bird would be very well cared for and receive a lot of attention. I can be reached at Montello Manor, (207) 783-2039. – Denise Lamontagne, Activities Coordinator, Montello Manor.

Answer:
In addition to responses from readers, Sun Spots spoke with Ellen Frost at The Kennel Shop’s home office in Augusta, (207) 623-8551, who says you need to submit a letter on Montello Manor letterhead requesting this donation. Frost says you should include why you are looking for this, who it would benefit and information on what takes place at Montello Manor so that the person who makes this type of decisions can take the information into account. You can either mail or fax your letter to Ellen Frost, C/O The Kennel Shop, 635 Eastern Ave., Augusta, ME 04330, fax (207) 623-8585.

Dear Sun Spots: I was wondering if any of your readers would have any plastic pots, about 1 gallon size or larger, like the ones that you buy perennials in. If they no longer use them and are about to throw them out, would you please call me and I would gladly come and pick them up. I use them in my garden and would appreciate having more. I can be reached at (207) 783-6553. – Joline C., Lewiston.

Dear Sun Spots: A while I ordered a Turner Community Calendar from the Boy Scouts. I paid cash for one calendar but to date I still have not received it. I can’t seem to find out who else to ask about this so I thought I’d try Sun Spots. – Sue Pinkham, Phillips.

Answer:
Sun Spots spoke with Jan Fitzsimons at Turner Primary School who says there have been two calendars circulating in the community. One, which is filled with community happenings, including photographs of old school buildings, is the SAD 52 Destination Imagination School Calendar.

The other is one put out by the Boy Scouts. Please contact the column to verify which calendar you ordered so that Fitzsimons can help narrow this search down. Thanks.
