The following races were mistakenly omitted or wrongly called on election night. Results were supplied by the Bangor Daily News.

House District 80

Nancy E. Smith kept her House seat representing Litchfield, Monmouth and Wales with a vote of 2,591 to 2,247 over Randall Greenwood. A Democrat and a farmer, she’s served two years in the Legislature. She said it’s important to make state government more efficient.

Greenwood, a Republican, is owner of Mixers Nightclub. He considers himself a fiscal conservative and said “Maine has to live within its means.”

House District 103

Republican John C. Robinson won this open seat on election night by a vote of 2,700-2,452, to represent Raymond, Frye Island and parts of Poland and Standish.

The president of Robinson Manufacturing Co., he has said his top priorities would be tax relief and job creation.

Democratic challenger Denis Morse, a Portland firefighter, wanted to cut down redundancy among schools and municipalities. His priorities had been combining municipal resources and road safety.

House District 105

Michael Vaughn also kept his seat in a race with Geoffrey Leighton by a 2,925-2,488 vote. Numbers originally supplied to the Sun Journal were incorrect.

Republican Vaughn has served two years in the Legislature, representing Durham, New Gloucester and portions of Lisbon. Challenger Leighton, a Democrat, had said he wanted to protect services for the most needy.

House District 109

Voters of Gray and portions of North Yarmouth and Pownal returned Republican Susan Austin to the Legislature for a second term with a 3,274-2,091 tally.

An administrative assistant, she had concerns about businesses and young people leaving the state, and supported consolidating schools at the administrative level.

Opponent Stevens Bunker, a Democrat, owns China Sea Marine Trading Co. He believes the best solution for controlling taxes is an affordable education system and healthy small business climate.
