BETHEL — Brittany Hilton kept Telstar off-balance, striking out seven and scattering six hits as Monmouth battled to a 5-2 victory in a game featuring softball powers in the MVC.

Hilton induced 11 pop-ups, nine of which did not leave the infield, en route to earning the win for the Mustangs (7-1). Alex Gauthier ripped a two-run single with two outs in the seventh to help ensure the Monmouth victory.

Liz Rosenberg had two base hits and scored a run for the Rebels (5-2).

Jay 11, Boothbay 0

JAY — Bree Loon struck out 16 batters and allowed one hit as Jay coasted to an 11-0 triumph.

Loon walked one and limited the Seahawks to two baserunners, thanks in part to an excellent defensive effort by the Tigers (9-0). Felicia Floyd led Jay with two hits, including a three-run triple that opened things up in the second inning. Desiree Castonguay added two RBIs, while Loon, Lindsey McDonald and Kaylie DeMillo drove in a run each.

Dirigo 18, Winthrop 4

WINTHROP – Katie Hutchinson set the tone with a three-run home run in the first inning as Dirigo rolled past winless Winthrop 18-4.

Abby Fenstermacher scattered five hits in five innings of work to earn the win. Michelle Holmquist chipped in for the Cougars (2-7) with a double.

Nic Emery led the Ramblers (0-6) with a double, while pitcher Jill Ouellette suffered the loss.

Wells 7, Poland 2

POLAND — Hannah Knight pitched seven innings of two hit ball to help Wells steal a 7-2 victory from Poland.

Knight (4-4) struck out eight batters and only issued one walk to earn the win for the Warriors (4-4). Knight also led the Wells offense with two hits and three RBIs, while Nicole Desjardins contributed an RBI triple to help keep the game out of reach.

Kayla Bickford had two hits, including a triple, for the Knights (6-3).

Madison 5, Mt. Abram 2

SALEM – Sarah Smith scattered two hits and received good support at the plate to pace Madison to a 5-2 victory over Mt. Abram.

Jessica Heyden led the Bulldogs (8-1) with three hits, while Jessica Stewart added two.

Sadie White led the Roadrunners (7-3) with a solo home run in the sixth inning, while Katie Walker handled pitching duties.

Oak Hill 4, Mt. View 1

THORNDIKE – Mae Nadeau went 3-for-3 Wednesday to lead Oak Hill to a 4-1 victory over Mt. View.

Magan Blais chipped in for the Raiders (2-6) with three hits, while Brittany Clark tallied a pair. Danielle Potvin scattered six hits in seven innings to earn the win.

Jessica Masessa pitched for the Mustangs (2-6), holding Oak Hill to a 1-0 margin before the Raiders sealed the game with three runs in the sixth.

Lewiston 7, Medomak 1

WALDOBORO – Pitcher Amanda Michaud ripped a two-run double to snap a deadlock in the fifth inning to lift Lewiston to a 7-1 triumph over Medomak Valley.

Brittany Nadeau and Danielle Willey singled before Michaud’s game-winning hit. The Devils (4-5) then put the game away with four runs in the seventh.

Willey led Lewiston with three singles, while Allie Marr added an RBI single. Michaud scattered five hits and fanned four on the mound. Allison Ludwig had a double for the Panthers (3-5).

Lisbon 7, Wiscasset 5

LISBON FALLS — Siobhan Riordan notched two hits, including a two-run triple, to lift Lisbon to a 7-5 win over Wiscasset.

Jen Hogan went all six innings for the Greyhounds (7-3) to earn the win and chipped in on offense with two RBIs.

Rachel Gray and Nicole Dikas each had two singles for the Redskins (3-5).

Hebron 8, NYA 3

HEBRON – Sarah Irish pitched three innings of no-hit ball to help Hebron roll to a 8-3 victory over North Yarmouth Academy.

Tiffany Bichrest led Hebron’s (7-2) batting effort with a double.

Olivia O’Reilly led NYA (6-3) with a home run.

Hebron put the game out of reach in the second inning, putting six runs on the board.
